2月のテーマも、感情表現

「感謝したい」「頼み事をしたい」といった、
発言のタイプ別おすすめ表現を多数学びます。

▶︎「感情表現」を学んでいきます。
「驚き」「恐れ」「怒り」など、日常頻繁に経験する
基本的な感情表現をマスターし、会話に彩りを添えましょう。

👉感情⑰ 驚きを表すー基本表現
▶︎まずは、「驚き」を表す基本的な表現から学びましょう。

会話の場面

登場人物

・ソウタ (Sota) とマサミ (Masami)

状況

・二人がゼイトクスについて話をしています。ゼイトクスは飽きた、と言って仮装をして街中を
歩いているようですよ。

Opening で

Roza
▶︎ Hey, everyone. This is Akino Roza. Ready for today’s lesson? You won’t be bored.

David
▶︎ And I’m David Evans. I’m really feeling it today, guys. Let’s have fun.

Dialogue で

① He said he was bored.【 bored の意味】
👉 bored – 人の感情を表す表現ですね。「退屈して」というわけです。

② People will think he’s a mascot of some kind. 【レポート文の形】
👉 People will think – その後ろに節を置いて、think の内容を説明するレポート文の形と
なっています。そして、of some kind – これは、「ある種の」という決まった表現です。
しっかりと覚えておきましょう。

③ He kind of looks like one. 【 one の役割】
👉さあ、ここでは one という代名詞が使われていますね。これは、もちろん a mascot
を繰り返さないために使われている代名詞だというわけです。

④ Now he wants to play against people online. 【英語は配置のことば】
👉さあ、play against people online というフレーズが出てきましたね。
ここでの online – play against people の後ろに置かれているため、それを説明する
副詞の働きをしているんですね。online で play against people する、というわけです。
▶︎英語は配置のことば – 単語の機能は配置によって決まる、というわけです。

Practice

David
▶︎ All right. It’s time for today’s practice. These phrases express strong emotion.
So it’s important for the tone of these phrases to match the emotion.
Let’s practice together.
・I was surprised to hear the news.
Do you feel the accent on “surprised”? Here’s one more.
・The news was surprising.

Roza
▶︎ Great! Let’s continue.
・That’s unbelievable!
・That’s incredible!
・Unbelievable!
・Incredible!
You can fell the emotion through those words, right? One more.
・It’s unbelievable that 〜.

David
▶︎ All right. Let’s keep going.
・Can you believe that?
・I can’t believe it.

Roza
▶︎ OK. Here’s one last example.
・I was blown away when I heard he won.
Did you hear how I emphasized “blown away”? Here we go!
・I was blown away when I heard he won.

David
▶︎ Wow, everyone! That was unbelievable! Great work!

▶︎ Excellent!
