👉11月からは、形容詞・副詞について勉強をします。
Lesson 159 never のイメージ
👉 never は ever の反対
▶︎ at any time の反対「いつの時点のとっても〜でない→これまで・決して〜ない」
Opening で
Roza

Dialogue で
① I want to do some scuba diving near the so-called “Yonaguni ruins” again.
👉さあ、ここでは so-called というフレーズが出てきましたね。
よく使われますよ。「いわゆる」というフレーズです。
② That’s what I want to confirm.
👉 That’s の後ろ – それは what I want to confirm という wh節でしたね。
【wh語＋平叙文】の並びで、文の部品になとなる節を構成しています。
▶︎ what I want to confirm は
「何を私が確認したいのか」あるいは
「私が確認したいこと」両用の形です。
③ Well, I’m sure the trip will be a great success.
👉さあ、ここでは上記のようなリポート文の形が出てきましたね。
I’m sure の内容を the trip will be a great success という節が説明している
形です。
④ I look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
👉そして、look forward to 〜「〜を楽しみにしている」というフレーズも
出てきました。to の後に動詞句的内容が来る時には、動詞 ing形をお使い
ください。
⑤ I’ll make sure to take lots of photos too.
👉さあ、make sure to というフレーズが出てきました。これまで何度も
このフレーズが出てきました。「必ず〜する」というフレーズ。そして
to がついている所から、「これから〜するのを忘れない」- そうした感触も
伴っています。

Today we’re looking at the word “ever.”
This is very easy, because we’ve just seen “ever.”
“Never” is the opposite of “ever.” So instead of “at any time,”
it’s “at no time.” Are you ready?

▶︎ This should be easy, guys. So remember! Think only in English.
Chris
▶︎ Gotcha! Here we go!

▶︎ Let’s go through a few more examples.
・Never do it again.
・Never let anyone walk all over you.
・Never say never.
・Never mind.

▶︎ OK. The final one. A bit strange, maybe.

Roza, have you ever seen a spaceship?

▶︎ I can’t say that I have.

▶︎ Never.

▶︎ Well, I can think of a few perhaps. The most interesting I visited are,
Machu Picchu in Peru, or Angkor Wat in Cambodia, or maybe
less famous, Tikal in Guatemala.
I like ruins.

I would like to go to Machu Picchu one day, though.
