▶︎ Hey, everyone. Akino Roza here,

Looks like Christmas illuminations.

Dialogue で

① I do not mind.
👉さあ、この I do not mind. の mind「嫌に思う・気にする」という動詞
ですね。「気にはしませんよ」そこから「かまわないよ」となっているわけです。

② Androids don’t get cold.
👉さあ、don’t get cold -「現在形」の文となっていますよね。
もちろん現在形は、広く一般的な内容を表す、そうした形です。
「アンドロイドは、一般に寒さを感じない」と言ってるわけです。

③ It’s for the image.
👉さあ、ここの文はちょっと意味合いをとるのが難しいです。
この image というのは、「クリスマスイルミネーションでカップルがするような、
まあそうしたことに対するイメージ」なんですね。その典型的なイメージに、
沿うような、そうすることが必要なんだよ – まあ、そうしたですね、ニュアンスで
使われている文です。

Today we’re going to look at the word “then.” And “then” basically indicates
“a shift of focus.” If you imagine your head, you’re looking straight, and then,
“Wow,” you move it to one side. And there’s a shift of focus.
So with that image in mind, let’s go.

Do you see how that “then” kind of switches the focus?
